for sale new necklace, white lace collar. $40

$40+shipping. I was planning of launching at the end of the month, but momma's gotta rustle up some money to throw a New Years Party. purchase here on etsy.

cauchemar? is that how it's spelled?

Nicotine patches are making me have terrible nightmares about body modification/mortification. I actually love the patch. It's not a la cart nicotine like the gum. I actually enjoy nightmares....? It's like watching a really good horror film. Quit smoking now folks! Last year my mistake was waiting for New Years. I smoked a bunch on New Years Eve and the next morning (2008) I was jonesing like a motherfucker.

icon: Leila Hyams

To answer the question on that poster: no. Or at least that's what the movie suggests. I first saw her as Venus in the 1932 film Freaks. She was a waif in an abusive relationship with strongman Hercules. This movie is amazing, and I thought she was far more captivating than the other lead Cleopatra. Leila work high-waisted sequin hot pants, a flouncy blouse and those finger curls.

best dressed anime girlfriends

I big part of me objects to anime women. The girlfriends are often just sexual objects. But...but... they sure are pretty! Best dressed:

1. Kaori from Akira

Tetsuo, the intersection of all the energy in the universe, falls for this meek impressionable girl. What makes her girlfriend-worthy for a guy who regularly recruits sex slaves? Hard to say. Her hair looks like a razor-ed over grown bob. She wears a plain T-shirt two sizes too big and printed shorts, but it draws more attention than any of the other girls in their crazy post-apocalyptic get-ups. She is essentially an Alex Wang girl. It's pretty amazing actually. Too bad she ends up getting crushed in parabolically expanding fresh-growth. :(

2. Yatohji Satsuki from X

The girl version of the Pygmalion. This nerdy ass girl is crazy good at computer programming and she creates and falls for her own program the BEAST. She is futuristic and always dressed in something pvc or patent. And those glasses with the dyed bands are really cute. I don't know. She reminds of Ohne Titel.

3. Hokuto Sumeragi from Tokyo Babylon-
Hokuto is witty, impulsive, and extroverted. Her wardrobe is a strange mix of gothic Lolita and tailored YSL-like jackets and suits. She's not so much of a girlfriend as she is a beard for her twin brother's hot gay lover. She's got my favorite hair.

edit: eri showed me this anime called Nana. It's pretty great and I'm going to order some copies asap.

more alan moore.

ALAN MOORE: I’m afraid, Carson, those rings also serve a magical purpose. With them, I have bound the Ifrit, wind spirits, to my fingers, allowing me to write three times as fast as formerly, and without any fatigue or cramping setting in, ever.

CARSON: And what did you have to exchange for that?

ALAN MOORE: Any sense of shame, whatsoever. Which is why you can’t help me.

from Fanboy Rampage by Jeff Lester.

I remember being 16 and worshiping Alan Moore. I want to go on a spirit quest to his home in Northampton. He is a shaman and a master at the comic medium. I don't like the term "graphic novel." That's a term for people who have a hard time taking comics seriously. I'll always take comics seriously. I'm looking forward to the Watchmen movie because in my heart of hearts I want it to be a disaster.

The Mindscape of Alan Moore is an incredible movie. Reminded me of 2012: Return of Queztcoatl. "Our culture is turning from liquid to steam." Terrible production, great subject. His rings are amazing. I dislike people who are of the mindset that good writing is "literature." In terms of urgent, resonant mythmaking of recent years, they've all come from fringe communities. TV. Comics. Sci-Fi. Erotica. Anime. If we don't start taking these narratives seriously, we're doing a great disservice to ourselves. Don't even get me started on American theater. It's inaccessible, antiquated, and stuffy. In this shit economy, it's not going to last. And this is heartbreaking because I'm a playwright. In Ireland, the seats had drink holders. Genius. That's what American theater needs. Booze.

old old old

I found these pictures I took two years ago. My brief foray into photography. They're a part of my self portrait project "Old Haunts." It's old school sandwiched negatives. It's about my issues with being in Jersey.

um

Watching two episodes of The Rachel Zoe Project has completely soured me on fur. Forever.

Costume.

Anybody who can't appreciate the theatricality of fashion takes themself too seriously. I love costumes. I like playing dress up.

Go to theater. The level of sartorial pornage is through the roof. Amazing costume designers in NYC today.

One of the best clothes in memory was Cate Blanchett in Hedda Gabler.

I also enjoyed the horrible Jersey trashiness in Hysterical Blindness because--if my 10 years in the Jersey public education system has taught me anything--sluttiness is an art form.

This picture from the Sam Shepard play "Kicking a Dead Horse" might be the inspiration for my next tattoo.

Lie Sang Bong

Lie Sang Bong's Spring '09 collection is pretty intense. As always. It's getting my mind going on how I can incorporate more structure into my knits.

4.48SarahKaneWouldHaveMadeAnExcellentOldPerson.

Semester's over. could, like, cry and cry and cry. Lot of all-nighters and psychotic feelings in the middle of the night. Feel pretty invincible, started smoking againcomma but I will quit perhaps. This is my fifth major attempt at quitting, but I bargained with myself. Addictions make great emotional leverage. I know my compulsive shopping was good for something. but honestly that Chubacca backpack off ebay really has made my life better. My family likes to keep tabs on me through my blogs because there's a lot of googling taking place in my household. I think my parents got into the habitEvery kind of permutation of "pam" you can think of. Ever want to cheer yourself up? Like, whenyouhavetwohourstowrite4,000words? like, whenyoustartfeedingintoyouryoutube/ebaycompulsionandhateyourself? Then Sarah Kane's 4.48 psychosis adaptions on youtube are fucking ludicrous. None of them are good, really.

This one is the laziest. voiceover?

My favorite is the hilarious bootleg of the production. It's my favorite because I get a kick out of the idea of someone consciously sneaking in a camera into 4.48 with dastardly intentions:

This one's the truly worst one.
