DO IT YOURSELF WITH HELP

The best show repair guy I know is Uriel. He is also the cheapest. His wonderful workmanship can be seen in the platform shoes he customizes for club kids. You can find him on St. Mark's Place. I'm going to take in some payless wedges and see if he can transform them into comparable Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony boots. There was an episode of SITC where Carrie gets her shoes repaired here and falls for a guy at St. Mark's Comics. Having worked and quit at St. Mark's Comics, I find it pretty laughable that they would hire any reasonably attractive man to shrivel up their already diminutive man-child cocks. But Uriel at the St. Mark's Shoe Repair actually lives up to the hype. I've had a pair of brogues that broke and send one shoe to Uriel and one to a local shoe repair place on campus, and Uriel's was repair was not only cheaper, but more effective. Not a huge secret, but he's a great weapon to have in your fix-it  arsenal.

Sometimes I make movies for school. This is an old one, but I want to share because I'm starting to miss my long hair.

DIY: BRAIDED HEADBAND

Ms. Sarah of disposable city commissioned me to knit her a braided cable headband. I made one for myself, and I've decided to post the pattern because it's just so fun and relatively simple to make.

Take wool yarn for US10 needles (so it's really really thick)
Cast on 14 stitches
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: Purl
Row 3: K1, slip 4 st on cable needle and place in FRONT, K next 4 on left needle, K4 on cable needle, K the rest of the row on left needle
Row 4: Purl
Row 5: Knit
Row 6: Purl
Row 7: K5, slip 4 st on cable needle and place in BACK, K next 4 on left needle, K4 on cable needle, K 1
Row9: Purl

Repeat Row 1 through 9 till desired length, bind off and whipstitch the ends together.

FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION

please watch this documentary.

money issues are leaving me really really depressed. Escapism is not the answer. I look at my closet, and I realize I have not been spending responsibly. I vow to spend thriftily and have more diy's.
